Force Break up Wolf Pack

Chicago, IL. In what could be the most dominating performance by the Force in the eight year history of the organization, a very enthusiastic home crowd was treated to crisp execution in all phases of the game enroute to a 62-0 drubbing of a game but overmatched Wisconsin Wolves squad. The victory was witnessed by Chicago Bears Super Bowl Champion Otis Wilson, who performed the pre-game coin toss.

The Force defense got things rolling by stopping the Wolves four straight times on their opening possession, taking over at mid-field. The winning touchdown came minutes later at 12:43 of the first quarter. Carolyn Lee took a reverse handoff from Albi Zhubi, and scampered to the Wolves 19 yard line. Two plays later, first year player ‘Cat’ Converse ran it in from eight yards out. Lee made the extra point. Converse, named Offensive Game Day MVP, took advantage of great blocking up front, scoring five times on the day and contributing 125 yards rushing of the total 521 yards of overall offense. Converse makes the drive in from Kalamazoo Michigan three days a week for practice and so far finds it all worth it. “My motor was running high right from the beginning,” explained Converse. “It’s very easy to be a part of this family.“ Force QB Sami Grisafe had another steady performance completing 7 of 8 passes including a pretty 30 yard touchdown pass to a wide open Kim Marks. Defensive Game Day MVP Martha Dantuma, who this season made the transition from wide receiver to strong safety, had two interception returns of 35 and 51 yards, both for touchdowns. “The football looked as big as a beach ball today as I grabbed it and took off,” said Dantuma. Lee closed out the scoring with just 55 seconds to play with an impressive 15 yard run. Lee, who also handles extra point and field goal kicking duties, is quickly becoming a vital part of the offense, accounting for 13 points on the day. “Lee has been very steady for us in these first two games,” said Head Coach John Konecki. “I’m so pleased with this victory today because everyone on the team played and contributed. There is no ‘ I ’ in team.”

The Force goes on the road for the first time this season traveling to Kenosha to take on the Wisconsin Warriors this Saturday April 17. Game time is 6pm.
