Chicago Force Drop to 4-2

CHICAGO, IL. An ominous full moon hung over Redford Stadium last Saturday night and wreaked havoc on the Chicago Force (4-2) who suffered numerous injuries and miscues. A relentless attack on both sides of the ball by the Detroit Demolition (6-0) paved the way to a convincing 47-0 victory clinching the Midwest Division title.

Similar to their previous meeting the first quarter found both teams locked up in the trenches trying to establish a rhythm. On the first Demolition possession Force cornerback Jennifer Dulski streaked around the right side untouched for a quarterback sack forcing Detroit to punt. Chicago QB Angie Bandstra led her squad onto the field only to be victimized by an interception. It was one of three on the day, all for touchdowns, by Demolition linebacker Misty Findlay. The quarter ended 7-0 the closest the Force would be all night.

Chicago special team’s returner Abby Riewe continued her solid play and had plenty of chances returning four kickoffs for 77 yards. Force head coach Jim Stahl was clearly disappointed with the outcome. “I really felt going in that we were prepared,” explained Stahl. “Unfortunately, injuries to key starters took their toll. We just didn’t execute.”

The Force goes on the road again traveling to Kansas City this Saturday to take on the Storm in their first of back-to-back games.
